MEMBERSHIP RENAMED: United Cabbies Group remembers former member and cabbie Jamie Roberts

The United Cabbies Group (UCG), a representative group for London taxi drivers, has announced that it will be renaming its Knowledge of London membership scheme in honor of former member and cabbie Jamie Roberts.

Jamie Roberts was a third-generation cab driver and a passionate supporter of the taxi trade. The UCG hopes that by renaming their membership scheme in his honor, his contribution to the group and his lasting legacy will be remembered by future generations of cab drivers.

The UCG’s Knowledge of London membership scheme is designed to help aspiring cab drivers navigate their way through the rigorous process of obtaining their badge and becoming fully licensed taxi drivers in London. By renaming the scheme after Jamie Roberts, the UCG hopes to honor his memory and the contribution he made to the group over many years.

In a statement made by the UCG they said: “At last night's AGM we agreed we would rename our UCG Knowledge of London membership as the "Jamie Roberts Knowledge of London membership" in remembrance of our former Chairman, who we sadly lost earlier this year.

“Jamie was a third-generation cab driver, and we feel it would be right to honour his memory and the contribution he made to UCG over many years by ensuring as a passionate supporter of the taxi trade he leaves a lasting legacy as our KOL members go through their journey to get their badge.”
