Roads News Update for London Taxi Drivers: 19 July 2023

Wandsworth Bridge Closure:
From Monday 24th July until the end of September, Wandsworth Bridge will be closed to all motorised traffic. The closure is due to essential safety repairs being carried out by the London Borough of Wandsworth. As a result, local roads and nearby river crossings are expected to be very busy during this period. To avoid any inconvenience, it is advisable to plan ahead and consider alternative routes.
A4 Great West Road:
Ongoing lane restrictions between Boston Manor Road and Lionel Road North will be in place until December 2023. Additionally, there will be full overnight road closures in July between 22:00 and 05:00 as a result of National Highways work on the M4 Chiswick Flyover. Taxi drivers should take note of these restrictions and plan their journeys accordingly.
Piccadilly Underpass:
Closures on the Piccadilly underpass are in effect until Monday 18th December. These closures are necessary for tunnel improvement works. It's important for taxi drivers to be aware of this and consider alternative routes to avoid any disruption.
Penge Road, Bromley:
Three-way temporary signals will be in operation on Penge Road at the junction of Kings Road, in both directions, until 23:00 on Thursday 31st August. This is due to Network Rail bridge works. Taxi drivers should be prepared for possible delays in this area and plan their routes accordingly.
